May 30, 2015 hi guys first things first:) this card wasnt mine before. I've made a cheap deal on ebay. Im looking around for a few days till now but i wasnt able to find any working answers. Looks like the prevous owner flashed the bios of a gtx 680 on it. Im trying to repair this little bitch. Over on A Reddit a user claims that a simple BIOS flash of the GeForce GTX 680 could turn it into a GeForce GTX 770. The BIOS which probably works with reference-design GTX 680 boards was posted. Supported GPU's Nvidia PCI-E 590 GTX Nvidia PCI-E 580 GTX Nvidia PCI-E 570 GTX Nvidia PCI-E 560 GTX Nvidia PCI-E 550 GTX Nvidia PCI-E 520 GT Nvidia PCI-E 480. INSIGHTS The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 was fast but not the fastest in all tests. It is certainly faster than the 'blessed' Mac Editions of the GeForce GTX 680 and Radeon HD 7950. Just as important is power draw. At 165 watts, the GeForce GTX 980 has no need for auxiliary power no. Jun 02, 2013 -Once flashed it will behave like an EVGA Mac Edition GTX 680, everything the 'official' card can do, the flashed card can do.-It will work in windowsboot camp without issue, just install the latest Windows Drivers from Nvidia.-To flash the card in windowsbootcamp: download EVGA Mac Bios.
This fall, Apple will release macOS Sierra, a major update to the Mac operating system. We’ll update this FAQ with more questions, answers, and details as the release date approaches. I own a flashed gtx 980 ti in my mp 2010/5.1, this one works perfect.
Unflashed grafic cards for windows systems should work, but they dont show the booting screens, until osx has fully loaded. So in case of booting problems you will not see any error screens, and the osx boot volume selection screen (where you choose between osx and boot camp) cannot be displayed.
Flashed grafic cards will show you the boot screens too.

Have a look at http://www.macvidcards.com/, they have a wide variety of grafic cards, from low cost up to high end. And they have a flashing service for many pc cards.

it really looks like that nvflash isnt able to successfully write to the eeprom.
the thing i want to try out is program this little bitch with an external programmer.
but i dont understand how since the bios dump is only 179kb and the eeprom has 256kb of space.
Gtx 680 Drivers
another way i was thinking about was to edit the device id.
but i dont know how.
